The All-Russian Engineering Competition (VIK) is held for final qualification work (VKR) according to item 4 of the list of instructions of the President of the Russian Federation dated 13 February 2014 Pr-349. The competition is organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. The operator of the competition is the National Nuclear Research University “MIFI”.
The reception of applications for participation takes place annually from October 1 to December 1 on the official website of the contest: vikrf.ru
What is a VIK?
The competition is divided into three stages: qualifying (from October to December), semi-final (from January to April) and final (June).
- The projects submitted in the selection stage will be evaluated remotely, and the best works will be selected in the semi-final.
- As part of the semi-final, participants are to undergo the acceleration (refinement) of the declared project (graduation qualification work) at enterprises in the real sector of the economy within the framework of the relevant practices. At the same time with the acceleration for semi-finalists, a business program is carried out, which includes face-to-face events in Moscow and an online program.
- As a result of the semi-final, projects will be defended in front of leading experts of the country, resulting in 100 participants will go to the next stage of the competition. The finalists will present their work to the first persons and experts of high-tech corporations and industries, such as “Rosatom”, “Roscosmos”, “Rostech”, “Russian Helicopters”, “RusHydro”, “RZD”, VK, “United Shipbuilding Corporation”, “United Aviation Corporation”, “Kurchatov Institute”, Federal Service for Financial Monitoring and other representatives of the leading sectors of the economy of the Russian Federation.
Who can take part?
The competition is open to students of all levels of education – bachelor, speciality, master’s and postgraduate.
Participation is open to graduate students who have chosen the subject of their final qualification, as well as pre-graduation students who are ready to formulate a project idea and work schedule.
